FERC Hydroelectric Project Relicensing
Hydroelectric projects are licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and are reviewed and relicensed periodically. Relicensing is a multi-task, multi-year endeavor and results in FERC mandated operating conditions, which determine the day-to-day management of resources for 25 to 30 years. Cultural resources are a critical component of relicensing, requiring compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as well as FERC requirements for preparation of Exhibit E, the environmental sections of the License Application.

Albion has provided technical cultural resource management services for these FERC hydroelectric and transmission relicense projects, among others:
  • McCloud-Pit Hydroelectric Project, FERC 2106.
Archaeology, History, Native American Consultation and Traditional Cultural Property (TCP) Evaluations.
