Jason graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2001 and was awarded a B.S. in Ecology and Systematic Biology. He began working at Fort Hunter Liggett shortly after graduating and currently is the project lead for bald eagle, golden eagle, and San Joaquin kit fox. Jason is also closely involved with all other avian projects and botanical surveys. Jason's work often takes him into the field at Fort Hunter Liggett, where he can be found monitoring active eagle nests, rare and endemic plants, as well as assisting with other threatened and endangered species surveying. He is also active in the natural resources program, where he takes an active role with such issues as Sudden Oak Death and invasive species. Jason's love of outdoors can be seen away from work as well, as any free time often finds him wading in the streams of the Eastern Sierra fly-fishing for trout.
