Jeffrey Diehl has worked as a biological consultant for the past eleven years. During this time
he has designed, completed, and reported field wildlife studies using techniques such as Habitat
Evaluation Procedures, stream invertebrate sampling, small mammal trapping, predator scent stations,
night spotlighting, radiotelemetry, electroshocking, passive and active bird relocations, preconstruction
presence/absence surveys, and vegetation surveys. Mr. Diehl has experience in all levels of geographic
information systems analysis, including database design, digitizing, data import and export, data analysis,
and hardcopy production.
Well versed in environmental review procedures, Mr. Diehl has coordinated the process with federal, state,
and local regulatory agencies, as well as conducted public meetings and information presentations. He has
also coordinated Section 7 Biological Assessments with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to determine
impacts on endangered species and used U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
criteria for the delineation of wetlands.
Mr. Diehl has extensive experience in all levels of studies and documentation required by the National
Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). He has developed
recommendations to mitigate fish and wildlife habitat losses resulting from project impacts and has
authored portions of Environmental Impact Reviews, Environmental Impact Statements, and Environmental
Assessments. In addition, he has designed customized ARC/INFO applications to analyze birdbanding and
recovery data as well as sensitive resource distribution data.
Throughout the United States, Mr. Diehl has conducted studies for development projects, including
proposed reservoirs, electrical transmission lines, pipelines, surface coal mines, and hazardous waste
disposal facilities. His project experience includes: residential developments in California; reservoirs
in Wyoming, Texas, Arkansas, and North Carolina; electrical transmission lines and pipelines in California,
Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Texas, and Maryland;
surface coal mines in Missouri and Kansas; highways in California; and, military facilities in California
and Wisconsin.
