Coast Dairies Project Manager: Clinton Blount Date: 2002 - Present We conducted the burrowing owl impact assessment for the EIR for Mace Ranch Park in the City of Davis. The proposed park supports nesting burrowing owls on different portions of the site proposed for development. The focus of our work was evaluating impacts of two park alternatives: development of recreational playing fields on the park versus a natural grassland park that would continue to support nesting burrowing owls and provide public education opportunities. We also developed burrowing owl population estimates for Yolo County and the City of Davis. Our work also included preparing mitigation recommendations for each of the project alternatives.
