Ms. Farquhar serves as a project manager and principal investigator at Albion Environmental, Inc. A staff member since 1999, she has considerable experience in cultural resource management and is well-versed in both state and federal cultural resource laws and regulations. At Albion, her duties include cultural resource consultation, as well as the design and implementation of archaeological field and laboratory projects.
Over the years, Ms. Farquhar has directed a broad range of projects involving the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). Currently, Ms. Farquhar is spearheading the Section 106 consultation for the Nacimiento Water Project (NWP) in San Luis Obispo County, serving a lead role in the consultation between the US Army Corps of Engineers, the National Guard Bureau, the California National Guard, and the California State Historic Preservation Officer. Her role in this project is wide ranging, from authoring Project documents including the Archaeological Research Design and Treatment Plan, the Archaeological Monitoring Plan, and the Project Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), to implementing planned field and laboratory programs. Other recent large-scale projects include the Bay Street Reservoir System Transmission Improvement Project for the City of Santa Cruz; Albion's PG&E State-Wide Master Services Agreement; and Fort Hunter Liggett Resources Management Program, Monterey County, California.
Ms. Farquhar is an accomplished archaeologist with over 20 years experience working in California. She is also an expert in lithic analysis who has presented numerous papers and lectures at professional conferences. She received her Master's Degree in anthropology from the California State University, Sacramento, and is currently President-Elect for the Society for California Archaeology (SCA).
