Leslie Fryman has more than 25 years of experience in cultural resources management, including prehistoric and historic archaeology, architectural history, and preservation planning; with work in interdisciplinary areas such as ethnography and Native American consultation, public interpretation and education, museum studies, and public history. She has authored more than 100 cultural resources inventories and evaluations, National Register nominations, archaeological research designs and treatment plans, testing and data recovery reports, and historic preservation plans for private sector clients as well as for federal, state, and local government agencies in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oregon. Over the years Ms. Fryman has developed particular expertise and research interests in historic transportation and water conveyance systems, historic archaeological districts, multiple-property rural and industrial landscapes, and ethnographic studies and management planning for Native American traditional cultural properties.

Ms. Fryman holds an M.A. in Public History/Archaeology from California State University (2005) and a B.A. in History from Edinboro State University in Pennsylvania (1980). She serves as a Board member for the California Council for the Promotion of History, and also serves as Preservation Officer and Board member for the Oregon-California Trails Association, California-Nevada Chapter.
