Sandra has conducted biological monitoring at a construction site for the Santa Clara Valley Water District. Species of concern at this site included the red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, and nesting migratory birds.

She is well versed in field techniques such as behavioral observations, raptor nest surveys, presence/absence surveys, point counts, radio-telemetry, and reintroduction of raptors into the wild.
