Burrowing Owl Mitigation Plan, City of Morgan Hill
Project Manager: Jack Barclay
Date: 2002

This project involved preparing a comprehensive plan that the City of Morgan Hill could use to mitigate the impacts of future development projects of burrowing owls and owl habitat. The plan was written to fulfill CEQA requirement by evaluating impacts of future development and then outlining a program to mitigate those impacts by managing burrowing owl habitat. The plan contained a novel "points system" that applied scaled values to mitigation lands depending upon whether or not they were occupied by burrowing owls or close to occupied burrowing owl habitat.
