Burrowing Owl Inventories Project Manager: Jack Barclay Date: 1997 - present Albion specializes in burrowing owl inventories for impact assessments, mitigation planning and population monitoring. Mr. Barclay helped develop the California Burrowing Owl Consortium’s widely accepted burrowing owl survey protocol. We specialize in burrowing owl population monitoring, including measuring reproductive success and productivity, with two long-term San Francisco Bay area projects where we have monitored reproduction for 16 and 9 years respectively. We hold federal and state authorizations to band (including color banding) burrowing owls to study survival and dispersal and we have developed specialized techniques using night vision equipment to capture burrowing owls after dark.
