Robert Pike is a wildlife biologist with over 10 years of working experience with federally listed species and natural resource management on the central coast of California. Highly skilled in vernal pool and ephemeral wetland fauna, he monitors and manages over 50 vernal pool fairy shrimp ephemeral wetlands at the United States Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL). As an accomplished identifier of all California fairy shrimp species, Mr. Pike holds a Section 10(a) Endangered Species Act (ESA) permit for listed fairy shrimp species, and is the coauthor of the FHL Endangered Species Management Plan for Vernal Pool Fairy Shrimp.
Mr. Pike has extensive experience in field biology, having conducted surveys and monitoring for several sensitive species including the San Joaquin kit fox, California tiger salamander, California red-legged frog, foothill yellow-legged frog, arroyo toad, bald eagle and California burrowing owl. He is also trained in federal environmental laws and regulations, and has performed ESA Section 7 Interagency Consultation including Biological Assessments. He authors and reviews the biological portions of Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments required by the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).
